Romanticismo

I find it fascinating how literature has changed over time and how everything is described in time periods that all seem to be different in each country. These time frames change how people see literature and truely has had a large effect on how we see literature today. During the Romanticism time period, authors began to take risks and extend their imaginations. I find it interesting how "El estudiante de Salamanca" takes place in a dream with such imagination when not too long before "El si de las ninas" was written in a very rational situation. I also think it is important how Romanticism expresses a persons freedom to express themselves as a person, an author as well as in politics. It allowed author to create places that they had never dared to create in the past and opened the eyes of people to new and fresh ideas while also creating strong emotions and passion. I also find it interesting how authors traveled to the different towns to listen to their legends. It is interesting how people from all over the country were able to become knowledgable about other towns and their legends during this time period. People became exposed to different cultures and ideas and were able to learn about different places by just reading. Lastly, I find it interesting how Romanticism demonstrates the fight between what is ideal and what is reality. For many people, in a perfect world they may want certain things but in reality it is imposible. People during this time wanted the reality to come true such as having the liberty of loving whom they wish. I think the Romanticism has changed the ideas and stories for forever, and has many meaningful themes that could even be applied to the present day.
